Xantus's Murrelet

Xantus's murrelet is a relatively slender seabird with black upperparts and white underparts. There are two subpopulations, Northern and Southern, that are differentiated by the extent of a small white wedge either in front of or curving above the eye, respectively.

Xantus's murrelet are uncommon to fairly common in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of southern California and Baja Mexico.
