Common Ground-Dove

The common ground-dove is the smallest dove. They have a drab back with dark spots on their coverts and a red bill with a dark tip.Two geographic populations, Western and Eastern, are differentiated by a pale or rufous breast, respectively.

Common ground-doves are found in dry brushy areas in the southern U.S., as well as eastern and western Mexico.
