White-winged Dove

White-winged doves are fairly small doves with a short, square tail and broad wings. As their name suggests, the edges of their folded wings are distinctively white. Adults can be distinguished from juveniles by a blue orbital ring around the eye.

White-winged doves are mainly found in desert habitats in the southwestern U.S., but are also casual in riparian areas on the Gulf coast.
