Cassin's Finch

Cassin's finches have relatively short bills with a straight culmen, long wings and tail. Adult males have a bright red crown, pink breast and a streaked brown back. Adult females and juveniles are drab with black streaks on both the back and undersides.

Cassin's finches are fairly common in mountainous forests of the western U.S.
