Western Kingbird

Western kingbirds have a light gray head and breast, yellow belly, short bill and square tail. Adults and juveniles look similar, except that the bellies of juveniles is paler. Unlike their relative, Cassin's kingbird, Western kingbirds lack a white malar.

Western kingbirds are common in dry, open areas throughout the western U.S. (as their name indicates).
