Whooping Crane

Whooping cranes are the tallest birds, standing about 7 feet tall. Adults have completely white plumage, with a red malar and crown on their heads. Juveniles have a brown head and white and brown feathers.

Whooping cranes are an endangered species. Less than 200 of these fragile birds live in freshwater marshes of coastal Texas and Canada.
