Crissal Thrasher

Crissal thrashers are relatively large, slender thrashers with a gray body and chestnut coverts under the tail, and a pale iris. Adults and juveniles look similar.

They have a strikingly downcurved bill. Compare to the curve-billed thrasher.

Crissal thrashers are found in dense brush such as mesquite near streams or washes in the southwestern U.S. They are secretive and can be difficult to spot.
