American Dipper

The American dipper is a stocky songbird with mostly gray plumage, relatively short wings and tail, and distinctive white eyelids.

American dippers are found along mountain streams in the western U.S., Canada and Mexico.

They are the only aquatic songbird, and are able to swim and forage underwater.
