Brandt's Cormorant

Brandt's cormorants have uniformly dark plumage and a distinctive light brown throat pouch that turns bright blue during breeding.

Brandt's cormorants are common on the Pacific Ocean and along the coast of the western U.S. and Baja Mexico. They are very gregarious and like to congregate on rocks and piers.
