Red-whiskered bulbuls are small, crested birds with a brown back, dark spur on breast, white throat and belly, and red undertail coverts. Adults have a red patch that looks like whiskers on each side of the head, which juveniles lack.
Red-whiskered bulbuls are not native to North America. Small populations of escaped cage birds live in the suburbs of Los Angeles, CA and Miami, FL.
