Violet-green Swallow

Violet-green swallows are small swallows with long wings, a short tail, and white undersides. The name describes adult males which have a beautiful green back and violet wings. In contrast, females and juveniles are drab on top.

Violet-green swallows are common in woodland habitats of the western U.S. and Canada.
