American Wigeon

American wigeons are surface-feeding ducks. Males have a distinctive white forehead and cap and a curved, green patch around the eye and back of the head, which females lack.

They are common in shallow ponds, marshes and fields throughout most of North America, except the Great Lakes region of the U.S.
