Canvasback

Canvasbacks are diving ducks with a dark head, neck, and bill contrasting a pale body. As their name suggests, breeding males have white backs. Females and juveniles are mostly drab.

Canvasbacks are found in marshes, ponds, and lakes throughout the U.S. and western Canada.
