Snow geese are relatively stocky geese with a distinctive black "grin patch" on the bill. In flight, the undersides of the primaries (wingtips) are black. There are two body color variants: white and dark.
Snow geese are abundant in fields in central California and near the Gulf Coast of the U.S.
