Temple Square is the historical heart of Salt Lake City. When Brigham Young arrived in the Salt Lake valley with Latter-Day Saint pioneers in 1847, he declared that a temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints be built in the center of this 10 acre plot of land.
Each year, Temple Square attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors who come to admire the temple and its beautiful landscaping, as well as the historic Tabernacle, Assembly Hall, and Joseph Smith Memorial Building. Click here for visitor information.
